The New Climbalytics App is Live!

Posted on August 28, 2019

After the events that we ran in June we got a ton of invaluable feedback from all the climbers who participated in our exit survey. Based on all that awesome feedback we decided to focus on two important things: the Climbalytics app and tracker accuracy.

Expanding, CWA Summit and a New Challenge

Posted on June 3, 2019

Wow, lots to announce in this email update! Our third Climbing Wall Association Summit has come and gone. This was the first time we were promoting the Climbalytics tracker at a booth in the Exhibitor Hall. We met many gym owners, route setters, wall manufacturers and other companies. It was really encouraging to see how well the tracker was received and to hear how gym managers believed it could help improve the experience for climbers in their gyms.

The First El Cap Challenge was a HUGE success. Here are the results!

Last month we challenged 50 climbers to climb the equivalent distance of El Capitan in Yosemite (3,450 ft). This was the first time that so many people had been using our most recent climbing tracker prototype.

What will the Climbalytics tracker look like?

Posted on February 28, 2018

In last months update we promised you a rendering of what our new and improved tracker would look like, and this month I'm happy to show off that incredibly hard work that our team has put in to finalize this design.

Starting off 2018 with a bang!

Posted on January 31, 2018

The first month of 2018 has been fast paced for the Climbalytics team and I wanted to share our progress with you. After having finished up some battery tests that were holding us back from moving forward on our Electrical Engineering and Industrial Design work, we have finally made some big strides on both our circuit board and 3D modeling in January.

A look back at the last 12 months

Climbalytics is officially one year old. We've grown a lot since starting this little project and we're grateful that you've decided to join us on this journey. Here are some of our highlights of 2017!

Down to the wire!

Posted on October 30, 2017

We had some agressive goals for the month of October. I was hoping to update you all last week, but we had a couple projects that were sooooo close to finishing that I wanted to hold off and give us one more weekend to make some progress.

The Climbalytics Mobile App

Posted on September 29, 2017

Today we released a very preliminary version of our mobile app. I wouldn't call it the V1 or even V0 release, so to set your expectations at the right level we'll call it the VB release :)

We are excited to announce that we just printed our first custom electronics board and are psyched to start testing it out. In addition, we've brought in a solid group of people to our team to help us continue with the development and design of our device. A sneak peak at the newest prototype

After our whirlwind of demos in May, Brandon and I turned back to focusing on the product this past month. We've been focusing on two product areas while we prepare to develop our next prototype, the Delta.

Taking the Leap

Posted on May 30, 2017

I think when you're really into creating new things it's easy to get caught up in the details and spend lots of time in isolation and in your own head. Brandon and I are definitely guilty of this...

What's in it for the gym?

Posted on April 30, 2017

After each of our updates many of you have asked a similar question. "What's in it for the gym?" Why would a gym go through the effort of setting up Climbalytics?

Demo Video of Prototype 2!

We've come a long way in the last few weeks. Our second prototype is proving to be working exceptionally well in all of the tests we've done, including this one at our local gym. Check it out in action!

Testing Prototype 2

Posted on January 8, 2017

Another excited testing day, but this time with Protoype 2, aka the Beta Band. The Beta Band is 2" x 2" x 3/4" and has a read range of roughly 12 inches. Although, it's still a bit large, it's working well enough for us to link it up to our mobile app and begin some comprehensive testing.

Testing Prototype 1

Posted on December 5, 2016

Exciting day for us. We tested our first big and bulky prototype, aka Alpha Band, and it worked great. It's tag readiblity was a mere 2" but it's consistency was good and the software worked well.

Technical Due Diligance
